Modern library of the university: trends in the development and improvement activities

In recent years, the university intensively modernizing the system of information and library services to faculty, students and undergraduates. The library opened multi-purpose halls of electronic resources are Wі Fi zone updated software processes of information processing, developing an electronic library of the university. This helps to speed up processes of learning and other information, which in turn intensifies the educational and scientific activities of faculty members, researchers, and graduate students.
In connection with the active development of the country's scientific, educational and publishing activities improved security disciplines in higher education specialties training, advisory and other publications. This allows to provide books in the open, freely available for self-selection of sources of information that develops the skills of a professional search a library of information expands the horizons of students and graduates and attract them to read books. To ensure the safety of the library book fund in the open access developed various security technologies.
Thus, in the present, the development of libraries as information centers is inextricably linked with their automation and the introduction of computer technology. One of them - Automatic contactless identification of objects by means of radio-frequency link - RFID, which allows to increase EFFICIENCY of the library with the book fund. In this case, the objects are the documents library - books and library cards of the user. Today, RFID is widely used in many foreign, and local libraries.
In December of 2014 for the reading rooms of the main building purchased special equipment. This RFID tags, magnetic cards, gates of identification RFID (EAS gates) with an audible signal, self-service terminal with a touchscreen interface, two reading devices (desktop and manual). It is a universal RFID - station for marking documents, user identification and recording user visits, as well as mobile RFID -Station coding and inventory books. It was purchased by a powerful server system (2T amount of disk space, memory - 24 G), which already provides the modern library software shells, the movement of large data flows and storage. There have also been acquired server modules, management and RFID IRBIS. The electronic service includes workstations (workstations) "administrator", "Circulation" and "reader" software "IRBIS-64" in the latest version 2012.
The point - RFID technology is that the reader by the book on the shelf, they can self-register on the electronic library card and read in the reading room. Registered book can take classes or home via EAS gates that will give the video and light signal, allowing removal. Students at the terminal self-service check whether they have debts. These processes are made possible thanks to the information about the books from the electronic catalog that is connected to all RFID - reading room equipment. In addition, the system automatically carries out the account of readers and Circulation, storing data for a long period in the archive. This enables us to know what books and what category of readers are in great demand. This technology allows you to efficiently manage and book fund, determining which documents are not in place or are not arranged according to a cipher, as it is inevitable in the independent work of readers of books. To do this with a manual reader (RFID mobile -Station inventory) conducted a quick check of the fund marked labels.
Currently, the dialogue between developers and the contact continues and will continue, as this system is constantly evolving and requires regular on-lіne-renovation programs and the control of the developers.
Organization of the work on the preparation of students for classes in the open access to books is very effective. So, this process must be made as convenient as possible for the reader and librarian, and effectively protect the books from losses. As you can see, RFID technology provides new functionality to work with foundations. The process of their implementation, despite the complexity, is very interesting from an intellectual standpoint and helpful staff, and for students who are lively and emotionally interested in him.
